About IIMS
International Institute of Management Sciences (IIMS), a non-profit management institution situated in Kolkata, is a pioneer institution in India to offer Management Education in the private sector since 1979. The Institute is the first in the country to receive All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India, approval in 1991 for offering PGDBA (equivalent to MBA) in Distance Learning (DL) mode marking the recognition of its competency in fulfilling the commitment of excellence and outreach.
IIMS commenced 2-year Full-time MBA Program in 2004 with the approval of AICTE, Govt. of India and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, (Formerly Known as West Bengal University of Technology, WBUT), a state university, at its new dedicated campus providing all modern facilities required for world class education.
Besides offering world class management education and training since its inception, IIMS is also actively engaged in research on socio-economic development.
In the Year 2011, International Institute of Management Sciences School of Business, Kolkata was established for conducting International Education, Vocational Trainings and Other Industry Oriented Programs under the patronage of IIMS.

Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU), a Registered State Open University established in 1997 by an act of West Bengal State Legislature (West Bengal Act XIX of 1997) and is recognized by the UGC-Distance Education Bureau (DEB) since its inception. Since, 1979, from it’s nascent days, IIMS is constantly taking endeavours to adopt global changes and endearing technologies to offer its students a global platform and exposures to build their career. To enrich, Education, Research, & Global Projects, IIMS joined hands with renowned & Globally acclaimed Institutes and Universities across the Globe.
The Motto of this International Collaboration is basically to increase exposures and outreach for our students by setting up global network for 360 degree professional development.
As part of our constant effort for providing education of highest standards, in the year 2011 IIMS made a novel and unique advancement through an international venture with Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS), Auckland – one of the prestigious management institutes in New Zealand which is globally recognized with due approval & accreditation from the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA), Govt of New Zealand, for conducting overseas MBA and Students Exchange Program, and undergraduate program through cross credit pathway. The program is mainly designed to cater to the ever-growing demand of overseas education amongst the talented Indian students. It aims at reducing the cost of quality education substantially while at the same time ensuring smooth transition to overseas campus under the institute’s arrangements.
In the Year, 2016, IIMS joined hands with UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA, MALAYSIA (UiTM), which is the Largest Public University in Malaysia for Research, Academic Collaboration, Faculty Exchange, Global Socio-Economic Projects & & MPhil & PhD Programs for Executives across Education and Academic Sectors and for Economic & Micro Management Research in different areas.
In the Year 2019, IIMS signed MOU with Hanoi Industrial Textile Garment University, for conducting Techno-Management Research, Global Education Projects & Cross Credit Pathways and Many More.
In 2020, IIMS got associated with Royal Education Group, Australia for Techno-Management Research, Global Projects, Faculty Exchange Program and International Conferences and Seminars on different disciplines.
IIMS Centre for Research and Application
IIMS Centre for Research and Applications, another wing of IIMS, undertakes research and projects and organizes International Conferences on contemporary issues. It also publishes books and international journals: International Journal of Development Management (IJDM) and Modern Management.
